The Echelon™ from Springfield Armory sets a new standard for modern, striker-fired duty pistols. With many patent-pending features, this modular and highly adaptable handgun is designed around a robust stainless steel chassis and revolutionary optics mounting system.
Engineered with superior ergonomics and built to withstand the harshest conditions, the Echelon takes its rightful place at the front of the pack. The Echelon from Springfield Armory – Unparalleled.
At the heart of the Echelon lies the all-new Central Operating Group (COG). Employing cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, the COG is entirely self-contained and serialized, allowing it to move easily between grip modules in seconds. Precision built from stainless steel, the chassis provides robust housing for its patent-pending operating system.
The Echelon’s patent-pending optic mounting system is concealed beneath the slide cover plate. The Variable Interface System (VIS) allows users to mount over 30 optics directly to the slide without using adapter plates. Simply configure the self-locking pins for the footprint of your desired optic to achieve a low, direct mount for improved sight picture and intuitive alignment.
The Echelon employs a newly developed magazine for rugged durability, hard use and reliable operation. Blacked out in an all-new scratch and wear-resistant coating, the magazine features a capacity of 17+1 in its flush fit configuration and 20+1 with the extended base pad installed.

What does "NS Black" stand for in the model name, and does it have any functional significance?
"NS Black" refers to the night sights, which are high-visibility sights that are easier to see in low-light conditions, enhancing target acquisition.
What's the difference between the 17+1 and 20+1 round capacity versions of the Springfield Armory Echelon, and is the extended capacity worth it?
The 20+1 version has a larger magazine capacity, which can be advantageous in situations where more rounds are needed. Whether it's worth it depends on your specific needs and preferences.
Absolutely love this gun. Recoil is amazing and the trigger is so smooth. Will be replacing my glock 19 with this gun.
Shoots great! Looks great, very good recoil. I love it.
Am a member at Range USA and the guys at the Southaven store always do a great job. When deciding I wanted an Echelon, I gave them the opportunity to compete price-wise and they came through. I favor Springfield weapons and own several. The Echelon is a fine gun if your looking for a full size striker fired setup. Very easy to shoot and runs anything you put through it. Over 1,000 rounds now without a single failure of any kind.
Went to Range USA to buy this after watching the Honest Outlaw review on YouTube. The grip feels like a nice aftermarket stippling, the slide release is firm and positive, the mag release is easy to access and an RMR mounts direct to the slide (get a pair of Glock MOS RMR screws). Two minor negatives: The pistol only comes with 2 mags and not all holster makers are ready at this time. Overall, the pistol feels good in the hand with a good balance and shoots solid. The Springfield Echelon is great value at $650!
I am impressed with the new Echelon. Could be law enforcement's new duty firearm. Shoots impressive. Good weight. Low recoil. Looks great. It's a keeper.
