Smith and Wesson M&P Compact 22 LR 3.5in Barrel 10+1 Round Capacity Black Threaded Barrel

I have owned this little 22 for a couple of years now.    It has been extremely reliable for a 22, which are absolutely known in general to have cycling issue due to the caliber.    When running CCI mini mags, it just goes and goes and goes.    I've owned quite a few 22LR pistols over the years, but this one has absolutely performed the best out of all of them.    Great for new shooters, and a great training tool for experienced shooters.    On the subject of ammo, I haven't had issues, it tends to run just about anything but I found Winchester X to be the least consistent.    I would recommend using quality copper plated rounds and not wax coated.   I have run some Remington Thunderbolt through it, but it was a lot of clean up afterward and there was lead fouling on the barrel.     Stick with CCI and this little M&P will perform.   The adjustable rear sight may need to be dialed in, but once I set that it was good to go.   Highly recommend this one.  

Took my daughter to the range for her first time and rented a Smith & Wesson M&P .22 Compact for her to try.  She loved it.  I was so impressed with this pistol that I went out and got one for myself.  I have about 500 rounds through it now that I did in two sessions.  The pistol has run flawlessly with all the ammo I have tried.  It is accurate, reliable, easy to aim and shoot.  Fits the hand nicely.  It is easy to field strip, clean and maintain.  The mag design is interesting as it staggers the rounds so they feed well.  Mags are easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble.  If I had to carry a .22 for self defense, I would feel confident with this pistol.  Make of that what you will.  Recommended.

True to S&W reputation, this is a great gun. It fits smaller hands perfectly and shoots well. Be sure to use ammunition with a minimum 1200 FPS velocity. The only improvement I made was to paint the sight dots with brighter gun site paint.

My favorite gun to shoot. Works flawlessly with copper plated hollow point, copper plated round nose, and round nose lead. Easy to go through a lot of rounds with tight groups. Nice gun to break the wife into shooting before trying the 9mm.

Was an awesome gun. 4th time at the range the rear sight screw fell out and the spring was lost. I contacted S&W and they will send me a new spring, just as soon as it comes in stock. It's on backorder. Probably my last S&W purchase.
