Chambered for .380 ACP, the lightweight pistol features a high-strength polymer frame with a black, matte-coated stainless-steel slide and barrel. The new M&P BODYGUARD 380 retains original design features including a 2 ¾-inch barrel, which contributes to an overall length of 5 ¼ inches and an unloaded weight of only 12.3 ounces making it perfectly suited for concealed carry. 380 Crinsom BodyGuard
First, not sure how they came up with the dimensions, but they are off a lot from mine:
* From butt of gun to top of rear sights, just under 4", but call it 4"
* Length: Front to back edge of of protruding grip piece slide 5.25"
* Thickness: 1"<
With the Crimson Trace laser integrated into the frame when in a pocket it presents an almost square wallet like shape. I carry mine in a thin neoprene pocket holster that makes look like a wallet and prevents any hang-ups.
I don't have small hands I it still fits comfortably in my hand. Safety is easy to thumb off with RH thumb and laser can be turned on from both sides.
It is double-action so the trigger is a little heavy, but I consider that safety+. Recoil feels about the same as my S&W MP 2.0 since it is a light weight even with the smaller bullet.
I am not a "Target Shooter". The accuracy is better and more consistent than my aiming, I generally practice for proficiency center-mass at 7 & 10 yards as I figure that is my most likely defense encounter. Consistently put all rounds well within body profile. I love the laser - I can shoot with both eyes open and the laser shows me where it will hit when I pull the trigger. I can always see the target and not trying to line up three things: rear sight, front sight, target. Single stack keeps it thin but limits magazine to 6+1
Easy to break down and clean. Only reason not 5-Star is trigger pull weight/travel. But prefer DA to lighter trigger. They don't have 4.5.
