Smith and Wesson M&P Performance Center Shield EZ 380 ACP 3.8in Barrel 8rd Ported Gold

I purchased two for my adult daughters and then, after shooting theirs, bought one for myself. As advertised, the pistols are very easy to load, rack, shoot, and handle. Our versions came with the modern version of 1911-style grip and thumb safeties. I really enjoyed the accuracy and recoil of the pistol. I noted a few stovepipe malfunctions and realized I was holding the small pistol a little too high in the grip compared to my full-size pistols. Once I self corrected, it was super easy and accurate out to forty yards. I assume it shoots well farther than 40 yards, but that is far enough for me. Highly recommend this model for a smooth-shooting American Made firearm.

I'm a relatively new shooter but this isn't my first gun. However, this Performance Center M&P Shield EZ with the ported gold barrel is a very impressive firearm. I purchased it in December 2022 at Range USA and after 150 rounds so far no problems. The fit and finish are excellent, and the feel of it in my hand is very comfortable. The slide is easy to rack and the two magazines are easy to load without the need for a speed loader. The flat trigger allows a more controlled smooth trigger pull and it has a distinct breakpoint and reset. It's also easy to group my shots and maintain the best accuracy a novice can muster with the very manageable recoil of the .380ACP caliber.

  The best part about this model is the sights, simply amazing!! The Hi-Viz green dot sites are easy to line up even with your eyes watering. The box contains the firearm, a safety lock, a cleaning kit, and two magazines. I consider this purchase a great value for the money; Very Happy! 

The gold bling does nothing but the Performance Center is the true 'gold'. Accurate and easy to shoot, being 380, and the EZ design for operating the slide is great. With the S&W we have, only the Performance Center models are truly worth the price.

Very nice handgun in a 380 ACP. I really enjoy this size as a carry firearm, The design of the grip safety is uncomfortable, it would be better if it closed flush when used. Because it doesn't close flush it digs into your hand which makes range days less enjoyable.

So REVIEW TIME....... M&P performance center shield 380.

So first couple of mags had a lot of stove pipes and failure to load properly. Racked the slide a few more times to work with the gun looked everything over to make sure there were no issues. Loaded the 3rd mag and no issues from then on.

Put a total of 100 rounds down range.

Grip safety..... No issues at all if you hold it too tight it digs in a little but is that really an issues if you had to use it for protection?

Sights..... AMAZING only way to describe them.

Flat Trigger... Feels a bit different on the finger cause there is more contact. Does it allow for more control? I think so. After 20 or 30 rounds i really liked the feel of the flat trigger. Trigger is a bit stiffer then i thought it would be. But it DOES have a clean break.

Recoil..... Very very controllable. Nowhere near what a 9mm is.
