4 GUN SAFETY RULES
- ALWAYS treat your firearm as if it is loaded
- ALWAYS point your firearm down range
- ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot
- ALWAYS be aware of your target and what is beyond it
GUN RANGE REQUIREMENTS
- ALWAYS wear eye and ear protection
- NO uncased firearms outside of your shooting lane. Must be a secured case, zippered or clasp/lock. Plastic Bags (Clear or Not) are unacceptable.
- DO NOT load ammo outside of your lane
- DO NOT reach beyond the firing line
- DO NOT shoot the floor, ceiling, walls, or any range equipment; all rounds must impact the back stop
- DO NOT use tracer, steel core, buckshot, or birdshot ammo; see associate for complete list of banned ammo
- Rifles must have sights to be used on our range
- DO NOT draw from a holster and fire
- NO rapid-fire, bump, or slide-fire devices
- NO fully-automatic fire
- Maximum of 2 shooters per lane
- ALWAYS use ammo purchased from Range USA in rental firearms
- You may pick up your own brass; all other shell casings must be swept past the firing line
- NO instructing or qualifying students on Range USA's range, unless you are a certified Range USA instructor
- NO pregnant women on the range
- NO low-cut shirts; wear appropriate attire to shield from hot shell casings
- NO open-toed shoes; shooters wearing sandals must purchase a set of shoe covers from the range counter
- NO alcohol, illegal drugs, or any other form of impairment while on Range USA property
- NO food or drink on the range
- NO smoking or smokeless tobacco in the store or on the range
- We recommend washing your hands after using the range
- First time visitors are not allowed to rent a firearm if shooting alone.
- NO targets, with real life images of people, can be used on our ranges.
- Certain ammunition is restricted from use on our range, these are:
- Green Tip 5.56
- 338 Lapua
- 50 BMG
- 50 Beowulf
- 458 Socom
- 5.45x39
- 7mm PRC
- 7mm Rem Mag
- 300 PRC
- 300 Win Mag
- Bird Shot
- Buck Shot
- Any tracers, armor piercing, or incendiary rounds
- Any ammo with a steel core
AGE & ID RESTRICTIONS
- Must be 18 or older to use the range unaccompanied
- Minors (under 18 years old) must be at least 10 years old, 54” tall, and accompanied by a parent or guardian
- All shooters above 18 must possess a valid state-issued ID or US passport
- Must be 21 or older to possess or rent a handgun
- Must be 18 or older to possess or rent a long-gun
Illinois Age & ID Restrictions
- Must be 18 or older to use the range unaccompanied
- Minors (under 18 years old) must be at least 10 years old, 54” tall, and accompanied by a parent or guardian
- All shooters above 18 must possess a valid state-issued ID or US passport, and a valid Illinois FOID card or CCW license, unless considered a second shooter accompanying a shooter with an Illinois FOID card or CCW license
- Must be 21 or older to possess or rent a handgun
- Must be 18 or older to possess or rent a long-gun
