This version not ideal

I picked up this red dot version for $479 plus tax. The model without the red dot was $399 so I figured I would get this one, and put the red dot on my PCC. (I am not a fan of red dots on pistols) Unfortunately - Baretta decided to cheap-out and not include the cover plate for the folks that decides to remove the dot. They sell them on their web site for about $26 but I think you have to find a shorter set of screws too? (not sure about that.) - It is bad enough that they do not include the blank cover with the purchase, but they are currently out of stock on these as well. The good points of the gun: 1) It is reliable. I experienced zero malfunctions with 3 types of ammo. 2) It has a rather small grip for those with smaller hands. 3) It ships with 2 magazines. The Bad Points: 1) As mentioned, it does not ship with a blank cover for the optic mount. 2) The stippling is very aggressive - to the point older folks with thin skin will likely find it painful to handle and shoot. 3) The trigger - It feels rather "spongy" and has a long reset. I also found I could not get better than 3" groups at 7 yards, but that was probably just due to me not being good with a red dot, so I did not include this as a negative point on the gun. Since I have no use for this gun the way it is, (and it looks goofy with no cover plate on it), I will be taking it to the next gun show, and try to recoup some of my money. Hopefully I can get at least $375 or $350 for it. ($130 to a $170 tuition/educational cost for not checking the box closer before I bought it I guess) - If they get the covers in stock before the next gun show, then I will probably go ahead and order one, and will likely keep it - if not, then it goes to the show for sale or for trade.
