    Finally - Magnum PI's Pistol!

    I bought this Colt 1911 from RangeUSA as an homage to the original Magnum PI show from the 80's. I had another brand of 1911 that I loved, but I had to have this one for its classic, iconic look. Just holding it in my hand takes me back - it is one of the few guns that I can just hold and not shoot and instantly be brought back. From a shooting perspective, it shoots beautifully, with no hiccups failures to fire, magazine issues or anything after about 300 rounds with the Colt magazine and some Wilson Combat and MecGar mags. I did clean and lube it before shooting for the first time - you will definitely need to do that as it was bone dry when I got it. I also get hammer bite - for you fellow high grip, fat hand folks - if you follow Mas Ayoob's grip tip (look it up) or wear a glove or a bandage - you can avoid bleeding over your new pistol.
