  • Product Details

Federal Punch is the first purpose-built defensive load for the .22 LR — designed for shooters who carry a rimfire handgun as a backup gun, prefer the manageable recoil of a .22, or simply want to get more out of their rimfire pistol. The 29-grain flat-nose bullet is wrapped in a heavy nickel-plated jacket over a lead core, deliberately engineered to minimize expansion and drive straight-line penetration deep enough to meet FBI protocol minimums from short-barreled handguns. Nickel-plated cases add corrosion resistance and improve cycling reliability across a wide range of compact .22 platforms.

Good stuff

Went through 50 rds in a sr22 with no problems. Want to test further to confirm reliability. So far, it's good

Thunder 22 / Better options IMO

I liked the hype of the "Punch". I own a few .22 pistols. My .22 Thunder is a good candidate for these rounds. However I did get several fail to feeds. They are powerful and accurate. Given my need to have options for my family to use a .22 for defense they are not reliable IMO. By contrast my Thunder 22 loves CCI Stingers. So try them. I would say that in a revolver they are great. They work fine in my Ruger 22/45.

Better off throwing a punch

Most .22’s don’t like nickel plated cases! Stop nickel plating the casings on these. Had a few jams and one ftf and it was being compared against aguila super maximum hp’s, Remington golden bullets and Aguila extra hp and the only failures were from this ammo. You’re better off fighting with the gun than using it with this extremely unreliable ammo
