I wanted a kind of do it all, practical rifle in a good caliber that would be easier to find, and medium game capable, like deer or hog if I could ever join my brother on a hunt. I put a nice Burris scout scope on it, bought some polymer 10 round magpul mags, and got some fantastic lessons at a longer range near Fort Wayne, Indiana. I actually hit a torso sized metal target at 400 yards. Pretty satisfying for a first center fire rifle after just knowing 22lr! The trigger is good, the stock recoil pad is forgiving too.
