I purchased my TAC Ultra 2 days before Thanksgiving. Overall Fit and Finish was excellent. Nice tight gun with no rattle. Finish is nicer than I'd expected. Finally at the range! I bought a Wilson Combat 8rd Mag to give me two mags. This gun can shoot! Numerous 5 shot groups around 2 inches. Groups were shot at 10 yards. 150 rounds shot with only 1 failure to feed (my fault - didn't seat mag enough). I did have a couple of no name mags that it didn't like. both had larger base pads that prevented them seating properly. Sights were dead on. I like the red-orange front sight insert. Trigger was clean and crisp with to slack or stacking. Felt to be about 4 lbs. Would I buy another? You bet! I've wanted another 1911 for years but life sometimes has higher priorities. I also refused to pay $1200 to $2000 for some of the big names. I agonized and analyzed which manufacturer would give me a gun with "good bones". Details you can always add later. The last 1911 I shot that I enjoyed this much that shot this well was a 1972 Colt Gold Cup. I think that says it all.

This is my first 1911 I've bought and so far I have no problems with it. Everything works as it should. The biggest stand out on this gun is the trigger, it's short, crisp and light. And all together makes this a very good, budget 1911. It doesn't have the nicer finishes of the more expensive 1911's but if that's not a problem for you then this 1911 is a good one to get.
