This is my first shotgun. I wanted a shotgun for home defense, and I think I found the right one. I looked at the traditional style but couldn't resist the coolness of this one. The last time I shot a shotgun, the kick made me not want to shoot one again. In my first few shots, I thought, what did I do this for? Then it happened! My new baby and I melted together, and I am now hooked! I can't wait to return to the range and blow up some stuff. I took a couple of pumpkins and, using birdshot, left them with some massive holes. Next time, I will try some slugs and see what I can do at 50 yards. The sights are accurate, and the kick was not much more than my S&W AR, so I am good there. Maybe it was the adrenaline, but next time, I can better determine what is real. I am glad I made this purchase.
A lil research suggested an ammunition in the 1300-1350+fps range is liked very well by this model. With a 500 round suggested break in period, I have made my way through 100+ rounds. Coming with 2 different "gas system" options that allow the user to adapt to the ammunition on hand. Stock sites are a flippable lg/small aperture rear and post front. There are removable/addable pads for rear length included and the aforementioned choke tubes and wrench. I quickly added a red/green holographic site with built in laser that just happens to allow stock site usage with covers open and sites in up position. The adjustable cheek pc is an added touch. Aftermarket magazine's were also acquired adding an additional 27 rounds for a potential ready capacity of 37. With a cartridge style 12ga bore sighter and my rest we are ready to verify 100yd zero and see what I get on the way there with different loads n such. I'm thinking a nice high lumen light with a green laser will go on another of the rails. Speaking of rails, I swapped out the fore end that was installed for the secondary one as it felt much better in my hand. I've not heard much on shooting left handed as it ejects right hand side. Take down for cleaning is pretty easy with the instructions until done enough times to commit the process by memory. If something doesn't seem it prolly isn't and a brief review of how what went where will show the culprit of non fitting components. I have had the previously mentioned experience with a few non/misfeeds which is a lil par for the course with new components and a new arm.
Had some issues with the cartages ejection at first but after shooting a box of shells I no longer have any issues with the gun. I would recommend if you purchase this weapon to buy a larger clip like I did ammo tends to go fast with only six shots.
I'm loving the VRBP100-A for it's size, and accuracy as a Bullpup. Three chocks, and chambered in 2 3/4" or 3", two 5 round magazines, and a 20" barrel. It takes a little time to get the spring to broken-in. During that time I've had one failure to fire, and that depends on the brand of shells I'm using. Hornady SST, Winchester Defender, Sellier and Bellot are my favorite shells so far. Federal fails to eject regularly, and Fiocchi had 1 out of 15 rounds fail to fire (primer never ignited). I currently have not found any Amscor shells to review. I've put approximately 105 shell through it, but pound for pound, I am having a great time. ~Pop~
