Ruger PC Carbine 9mm 16.12in Threaded Barrel 17+1(1) Digital Camo

To eliminate the variation in accuracy cause by the play in the take-down tolerances between the receiver and the barrel, when the optic is mounted on the receiver, when using, say a low-mount Romeo5 Red Dot Optic, NcSTAR makes a rear barrel sight replacement, which includes a copy of the OEM ramp, AND a short Picatinny Rail.  It requires the rear sight be switch over to the NcSTAR ramp, to maintain iron sights, and then something like the Romeo5 can be low mounted, either by switching out the tall mount to the short mount that comes with the Romeo5, or one of many Quick Disconnect Mount series, which I recommend A.R.M.S. for quick on or off, AND maintains ZERO.  The accuracy improvement with this setup is well worth the money.  Best so far is a 5-shot cloverleaf, at 25 yards.

Also with the Red-Dot mounted that far out, it presents a VERY WIDE OPEN, UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW!

FYI:  When switching over the rear sight to the NcSTAR ramp, with the forearm removed, taking a digital caliper measurement from the forearm mount, to the top of the peep sight, this can be repeated on the setup of the rear sight on the NcSTAR ramp, and thus maintaining your ZERO setting.

Other than the camo, no difference from a stock 19100 model.  Use the $100 savings to buy two 2packs of 9mm mags.

Very accurate, easy to take down clean and reassemble. 

The digital camo has a distinct advantage, in that in a poorly lit safe, it will be readily distinguishable from your 10/22 when reaching for home defense. The camo is a hard coating, but is also subject to nicks, scratches, and wear, however they easily blend in with the camo. I believe too, that in person, it looks a lot better than the picture. Being born into the correct-handed crowd, in a Right-hand only world, ambidextrous controls are critically important when purchasing. Very few in the Pistol Caliber Carbine world are ambidextrous, or correct-hand friendly, and initially this Ruger PC is no exception, as Ruger did not see the need for the SAFTEY (of all things), or the Bolt Hold Open, to be ambidextrous. So why the Ruger PC? Because being a Ruger, and following a lot of the 10/22 design, there is an aftermarket company called TandemKross [TK], who offers an affordable ambidextrous LEVER STYLE safety (like on an AR) which is worth every penny, no matter which hand you favor, and so much so, Ruger should adopt it. Plus [TK] also offers an affordable ambidextrous Bolt Hold Open replacement that is also worth the money. Both of these items are very easy to install. On top of easily making the Ruger PC ambidextrous, and correct-handed friendly, I have yet to see a single negative review of it, well other than maybe it is not as pretty as many would like. As for accuracy and function? Well it's a Ruger. Nuf said.

Bought this awhile back and it has never functioned properly, 2 trips back to Ruger and it has sat in my cabinet for nearly two years untouched because I can't ship it anymore due to my state banning it. Constant stovepipes using both Ruger and Glock mags, replaced the ejector, extractor, spring, pins then eventually an entire bolt without luck even the local shop had a crack at it without luck. Good thing it weighs a ton because you can definitely beat an intruder down after it jams on the first shot. Google the issue and you'll see that it's hit or miss on this one, the positive is that you can get tons of aftermarket parts if you get a functioning machine.
