Smith & Wesson Shield Plus Bundle 9mm 3.1in Barrel 10+1(1)/13+1(5) Optic Ready with Savior Specialist Range Bag

This is quickly becoming my absolute favorite handgun. The ergonomics are incredible—it fits my hand perfectly—and the accuracy is spot on. Adding a red dot took it to the next level, and I couldn't be happier with the performance. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the 'Sand' gun!

I think this is my best purchase yet.  I also grabbed the bundle on a whim, looking for something to replace my previous subcompact.  Overall I'm thrilled with this pistol.   Surprisingly accurate right out of the box, the recoil is minimal,  and having 6 magazines in total makes this a very solid investment.  I've actually put another in my cart thinking to buy yet another but I've resisted the temptation. Thank you Smith & Wesson, and thank you Range USA. 

I purchased this bundle when it went on sale as an impulse purchase - already having a Glock 43x. This Shield Plus is a direct upgrade over the regular Shield - the grip texture locks into your hand, and the trigger is beautiful. The gun handles recoil better than a gun this size has any right to, and the tritium night sights and optic ready slide means everything is ready to go out of the box. The extra magazines and pistol bag are perfect for the range and really add value to the overall bundle. When coupled with a good IWB holster (I got the Vedder Light Tuck), the pistol disappears until you are ready to draw. Through 250 rounds (mostly FMJ, but some JHP) - the pistol has been flawless. I did lube and clean it (it wasn't dirty) out of the box, though.

Am a long time S&W fan... and firearms instructor / RSO. This shield plus O.R. w safety version really disappointed me. First, the trigger on this gun significantly catches as the center trigger bar tries to clear the frame, then catches again as it comes back to the trigger wall. Gritty before the break. Was so bad I decided it actually wasn't safe, so I had to replace the trigger with an aftermarket version that works flawlessly. The takedown lever was the stiffest of any of the dozens of pistols I've purchased. Literally required two hands to rotate, and at first I couldn't move it AT ALL, even with tools. Had to remove it and polish to get it to pivot correctly. Finally, I added a Holosun EPS Carry red dot. After mounting it, I found that I ran out of elevation adjustment. Researched online to learn this gun has a known issue where the optic 'pocket' on the slide is milled at an angle for many guns - and is not parallel with the bore!  Not all shield plus guns have this issue, but it is quite common. Apparently the issue is due to poor quality control during the build. So I've sent the slide to a machinist who will flatten/align the optics pocket. Overall, the form of the gun is outstanding for CCW. Excellent texturing. Nice night sights. Perfect size, IMO.  Just know that it's going to take real effort to get the gun into a good state for accurate and safe use. Would likely not buy again.
