Best compact open emitter package

The window is tiny... as it should be to maintain the smallest profile possible for concealed carry. If you are comfortable without having a closed emitter then this is your guy. If you're shooting round-shaped bullseyes or round targets the circle helps immensely by having the circle for reference. The circle has "crosshair" style hashmarks at the 3,6,9, and 12 o'clock positions on the outskirts of the circle to help the shooter hold the gun level and plumb on target. The elevation and windage adjustment "clicks" are noticeable and tactile. The battery access side "drawer" means no re-installation and re-zeroing the optic every battery change. Every brightness setting you're going to want is there. It's available for purchase in either red or green. If you train with it, you're good. I hit tight groups with mine on a SIG P365 X Macro Comp. That says a lot, because that's through a 3.1" barrel. Solid buy. Mine's on for good and not for sale.

Depends On Firearm

I do like this optic; however, the elevation adjustment is not broad enough for use on small handguns unless you are deep into the slide. Adapters make it too high. Even on a S&W MP 9.0 compact I had the elevation all the way up and it was barely at the correct spot. It did not work at all on my Kimber KDS9c which has a thick adapter plate. But, I have one on my Mossberg 590S...and I LOVE it! The long barrel and low-mount is better geometry for this dot which only has +/- 30MOA adjustment. I will move to the 507C versions for handguns since the adjustment on those are an additional 20MOA in each direction.
