Taurus TX22 Compact 22 LR 3.6in Threaded Barrel 13+1(2)

I love shooting 22 pistols.  One of the things you have to put up with in rimfire guns, however, is that you're going to get a failure to extract or a misfire every once in a while -- usually every hundred rounds or so.  This goes for the best guns as well as they cheap ones.  I have a Ruger Standard Mk.III that I love and treat like a mistress, but it is also prone to those little mishaps.  Same with all of my other 22LRs, as well.

Except this one.

Since buying this gun over a year ago, I have put a bit over 2,000 rounds through it and have not experienced a single malfunction of any type.  Not one.  Slow-fire, double-tapping, rapid transition drills, express mag reloads... I've put this little gun through the ringer with five different brands of ammo and it continues to run like a champ.  I didn't even clean it until I hit 1,000 rounds.  After the first five hundred with no malfunctions, I was determined to get it to malfunction just once, so I started running really dirty stuff like Aguila through it.  It chugged on without complaint.  At 1,000 rounds I was starting to feel guilty so I broke down and cleaned it.  It's now gone another 1,000 rounds with no malfunctions.  

If you'd told me when I purchased it that a $250 polymer 22LR would do this, I'd have laughed in your face.  I've been shooting rimfire guns for nearly five decades and I've never experienced this level of reliability in one.  Heck, it's more reliable than some of my center-fire pistols. Truly amazing.

This is one of the funniest guns I own. We are using it to train our teens to shoot. For the price you should get one too.
